18.07.2024 11:36The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has supported bill 11256-2 on raising the excise tax on fuel starting from September 1.
This was reported by MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak on his Telegram channel.
“The amendment (No. 267) on gas was also supported. The overall vote was ‘for’ with 231 votes,” Zheleznyak wrote.
In May, it was reported that the Ukrainian government was considering raising excise taxes on tobacco, alcohol and fuel. By the end of the year, a military levy for individual entrepreneurs (FOPs) might also be introduced.

As reported by the media, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a bill to increase excise taxes on fuel and alcohol starting from July 1. The project is called “On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine Regarding the Approximation of Ukrainian Legislation to the Legislation of the European Union in Terms of Excise Tax.”
It was also reported that the parliamentary tax committee supported the government’s bill to increase excise taxes on cigarettes and fuel to EU levels by 2028, tying them to the euro instead of the hryvnia.
