The Verkhovna Rada predicted arrests due to the vote on extending Zelensky’s powers

The members of the Verkhovna Rada who voted in favor of the statement supporting the extension of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s powers will end up in prison in the future.

This prediction was made by Ukrainian MP Oleksandr Dubinsky in a Telegram post.

“Everyone who voted for this will go to jail,” the publication states.

He emphasized that the approval of this statement cannot be equated with a parliamentary vote on presidential elections under emergency conditions and does not add legitimacy to Zelensky’s position.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada failed to pass a vote on a statement declaring that Zelensky “must fulfill his duties until the newly elected President of Ukraine takes office.” However, on February 25, the statement was adopted after a second attempt.
