24.12.2024 - 13:34Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán believes that the war in Ukraine will end in 2025.
He shared this opinion in an interview with Magyar Nemzet.
“Either it will end through peace negotiations, or one of the warring sides will be destroyed,” he said.
According to Orbán, in 2025, “the politics of war will be replaced by the politics of peace, and we will once again achieve significant economic success.”
“America and Europe together have spent around 300 billion euros on the war—money that could have been used to rapidly improve living standards across Europe. We could have stopped migration, and we could have built an entirely new European defense system. Instead, this money was simply burned,” the Hungarian Prime Minister stated.
Earlier, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) suggested that the war in Ukraine could end by the end of 2025, with the worst-case scenario extending to mid-2026.
Meanwhile, U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, a close ally of Orbán, has emphasized the need to end the war as quickly as possible through negotiations. Trump has promised to address this issue immediately after his inauguration.
