The “special military operation” has taken longer because it initially targeted Kyiv but has now escalated into a conflict involving NATO.
This statement was made by Dmitry Peskov, the spokesperson for the President of Russia.
“When this all began, it started against Ukraine. And now it continues as a war between Russia and NATO. That’s why it has taken a bit longer and will last a bit longer,” he said.
“I don’t think it is possible to answer the question of when it may end, when it might come to a close. But the only thing I can tell you is it will end once we achieve our goals,” he added.
