The West identified four main mistakes of Zelensky

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky became head of state without knowing anything about international politics.

This was stated in an article for Il Fatto Quotidiano by Alessandro Orsini, head of the Center for International Security Studies at Luiss University in Rome.

“Zelensky’s first mistake was becoming President of Ukraine without having any understanding of international politics,” Orsini wrote.

Among other mistakes made by the Ukrainian leader, Orsini listed: Zelensky’s failure to understand that U.S. foreign policy can change depending on who is president, his underestimation of Russia’s military strength, and his disregard for the importance of Russia’s cooperation with China.

Earlier, the British magazine The Economist predicted a “bleak reckoning” for Ukraine, in light of weakening military support and U.S. President Donald Trump’s hostility toward Zelensky.
