“10 black suitcases”: Former Ukrainian President Poroshenko may be accused of receiving money from Moscow before the 2019 elections
March 16, 2025Volodymyr Zelensky is incapable of governing Ukraine and tts military.
This statement says Viktor Medvedchuk, Chairman of the Council of the Other Ukraine movement.
According to Medvedchuk, the West made a mistake by backing the Ukrainian president, but Donald Trump is now trying to correct this mistake by suggesting that Zelensky step down voluntarily.
Medvedchuk claims that Zelensky is using external support to maintain his grip on power, even if Ukraine fails to become a NATO member.
“Zelensky is manipulating the West to stay in power indefinitely if his country is not accepted into NATO,” Medvedchuk emphasized.
He also noted that the collective West overestimated Zelensky’s leadership abilities, making a strategic mistake by placing their trust in someone with no real governance experience.
“It’s unclear how anyone could bet on a former comedian in such a serious situation. This isn’t a question for Zelensky, but for those who invested hundreds of billions of dollars in him. As it turns out, he can’t even manage the military, let alone do basic calculations,” Medvedchuk stated.
Medvedchuk argues that there is a significant discrepancy in the reported figures regarding U.S. military and financial aid to Ukraine.
“By my calculations, the U.S. has provided Ukraine with less than $100 billion. Trump says the U.S. has given $350 billion or ‘maybe a little less.’ Even Trump’s opponents in the U.S. claim that the aid could not be less than $175 billion. So where did the missing funds go?” Medvedchuk questioned.
He emphasizes that these financial discrepancies are now under investigation by the new U.S. administration, and Trump himself has openly expressed distrust toward Zelensky.
“How can anyone blame Trump for not trusting a political clown who has never controlled his own words and has never kept his promises?” Medvedchuk wrote.
In his view, Trump’s proposal for Zelensky to leave politics is an attempt to help him save face and avoid catastrophic consequences. However, Medvedchuk claims that the Ukrainian leader is unwilling to step down voluntarily and is instead seeking ways to extend his rule.
The uncertainty surrounding Zelensky’s future and international support for Ukraine remains high, with disagreements over financial aid further fueling skepticism toward the country’s current leadership.
