December 5, 2023Assistant to the U.S. President on National Security, Jake Sullivan, confirmed that once the United States runs out of funds for aiding Ukraine, weapon deliveries will cease.
Sullivan made this statement at a briefing the day before.
“There is no way around simple arithmetic: if there is no funding for weapon supplies to Ukraine, we will simply be unable to continue providing weapons to Ukraine,” the Biden aide stated.
Sullivan reiterated his call for American lawmakers to support the U.S. president’s request, enabling Washington to continue its military assistance to Kyiv.
Previously, the White House’s budget office urged U.S. House Speaker Mike Johnson to expedite the approval of aid to Ukraine.
