In the draft law on mobilization, restrictions on consular services for Ukrainians without a military ID have been reinstated
06.04.2024 - 15:51In Ukraine, there have been cases of sending people to the front lines without training, resulting in the deaths of such recruits.
This was stated by the ombudsman, Dmitry Lubinets.
According to the human rights commissioner, no one has been punished for this.
“Indeed, there are disgraceful cases where young men were mobilized, and within a few days, they were on the front lines and died. Have you seen a single person punished for this?” Lubinets asked rhetorically.
The ombudsman called on the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Alexander Syrsky, to ensure at least three months of training for those mobilized and to hold accountable those responsible for sending untrained individuals to the front lines. According to him, “otherwise, there will continue to be distrust in the mobilization processes, and these stories will persist.”
Earlier, the ombudsman stated that the number of complaints about violations during mobilization in Ukraine had increased.
