Only three out of 17 prosecutors from Khmelnytskyi were able to confirm their disability status
13.01.2025 - 13:50Despite ongoing protests from Ukrainian citizens and dissatisfaction among the military, there are no plans to demobilize soldiers who have served for several years in the near future. This will likely remain the case for the next three months.
This statement was made by Fedir Venislavskyi, a Member of Parliament from the “Sluga Naroda” party, during comments to journalists.
According to Venislavskyi, demobilization is currently not feasible.
“There will be no mechanisms for discharge after 2-3 years of service in the near future,” said the member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence.
He noted, however, that there are already provisions allowing for discharge from service, which many soldiers utilize monthly. This likely refers to situations such as injuries or being deemed unfit for service.
Venislavskyi suggested that the Ministry of Defense might develop a draft law on demobilization and submit it to parliament, but he emphasized that this does not guarantee its approval.
“I believe it is unlikely that we will see widespread discharge of military personnel even within the next three months,” he added.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense stated that demobilization is not possible due to a shortage of reserves.
