Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has introduced to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine draft laws on extending mobilization and martial law for another 90 days, until May 14.
Accordingly, presidential elections in the spring will definitely not take place, as they are prohibited by law during martial law.
At the same time, Zelensky’s 5-year constitutional term expires in May. It is not excluded that opponents of the president will actively use this moment, claiming his “illegitimacy.”
Recall that Zelensky claimed to be ready to hold elections during martial law, but there is a condition.
