17.10.2024 12:00Ukraine is introducing new methods to attract men to military service as voluntary enlistment rates have dropped. A new feature has been launched in the “Diia” app, allowing individuals to sign up for service as drone operators, bypassing the traditional recruitment centers and medical commissions.
This was reported by Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation.
In the app, users can choose their unit and specialty themselves, avoiding any “unpleasant surprises with assignments,” the ministry explained. Fitness for service can be confirmed with just one click.
To enlist, users must update the “Diia” app, go to the “Services” section, select “Join the Drone Army,” and then choose their service direction. After the application is submitted, it will be reviewed by the relevant unit, and the applicant will be invited for an interview.
“You will come to training with a signed contract and be confident that you will serve in the unit of your choice,” the Ministry of Digital Transformation assured.
Recently, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced this new service in “Diia”, noting that individuals will need to make arrangements with a specific unit in advance to use the feature.
