‘Through the forest and across the river’: a Ukrainian man posted a series of videos on TikTok detailing his journey to Romania

There’s a series of videos circulating on TikTok where a Ukrainian man details his escape from the country and journey to Romania through forests and across a river.

He talks about the preparations for the transition, the process itself, and his emotions upon reaching Romania.

“Well, I made it. I’ve changed clothes; here’s the wetsuit lying here. It was insane, of course. Saw one border guard. I almost blew my cover by smoking a cigarette, but thankfully we passed by unnoticed. Yeah, the price of freedom is insane, of course. I’m mind-blown. It’s like a marathon, a triathlon. Both on a bike and swimming,” the man says.

In the comments, he was congratulated, and people asked how he managed to swim across the river.

“It was fine, without problems. Can’t say it was hard in the river,” he stated.

Additionally, in one of the videos, he displayed a document about Romanian protection, but in the comments, he informed followers that he was no longer in Romania.
