15.08.2025 11:01Ukraine is considering allowing men under the age of 22 — and not just students — to travel abroad. The conditions would be the same as for those under 18, meaning simply raising the age threshold for departure.
This was reported by a Forbes source in the Office of the President.
The decision could be prepared as early as next week, before August 21.
“There is hope that people will stay here, particularly given the negotiation process and the hope for a just peace,” the Presidential Office said.
It is reported that this is the authorities’ response to the mass departure of children under 18 from Ukraine. The aim is to increase the number of students in Ukrainian universities by 25% as early as next year.
It should be recalled that President Volodymyr Zelensky announced this initiative without providing details. MP Yevtushok suggested that travel would be permitted only for those studying at foreign universities.
