Europe was advised to return to buying oil and gas from Russia
06.03.2026 06:31U.S. President Donald Trump has again criticized his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky, calling him an obstacle to ending the war.
The American president urged Zelensky to sign a peace agreement.
“Zelensky needs to get it done and make a deal,” Trump said.
In Trump’s view, Russian President Vladimir Putin is “ready to make a deal,” while the Ukrainian leader is not showing sufficient readiness for negotiations.
“It’s unthinkable that he is the obstacle. You don’t have any cards up your sleeve. And now he has even fewer,” the U.S. president added.
Trump once again stressed that Ukraine currently “has no cards to play.”
“You don’t have any cards. Now he (Zelensky — Ed.) has even fewer,” he concluded.
As Zelensky himself has said, Moscow and Washington are pressuring Kyiv to withdraw Ukrainian troops from Donbas.
Earlier, Bloomberg, citing sources, reported that Russia is considering withdrawing from the negotiations if Ukraine refuses to pull its troops out of Donetsk region.
