U.S. President Donald Trump has decided not to travel to Turkey for the negotiations after Russian President Vladimir Putin declined to attend.

This was reported by a Fox News anchor.

“After it became clear that Putin was not on the list of participants, American officials removed the president (Trump – Ed.) from the possible list of attendees,” the journalist stated.

It’s worth noting that President Trump had mentioned several times his potential trip to Istanbul. On Wednesday afternoon, he said he did not rule out a meeting with Putin in Turkey.

Trump is open to “virtually any mechanism” that could lead to an end to the fighting in Ukraine, said Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who arrived in Turkey today.

Rubio believes that “the conflict between Russia and Ukraine cannot be resolved through military means.”

Earlier, it was reported that the Ukrainian delegation participating in the Istanbul talks will include Head of the Presidential Office Andriy Yermak, Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha, and Presidential Advisor Ihor Zhovkva.
