Humiliation on the international stage: the authenticity of a disgraceful cartoon of Zelensky by the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo has been confirmed
28.04.2025 - 23:48French politician and leader of the “Patriots” party, Florian Philippot, commented on the incident that occurred at the Vatican involving U.S. President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron.
He shared his thoughts on the social network X.
According to Philippot, the situation — where Trump effectively pushed Macron aside during talks with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky — symbolically reflected real political trends.
Philippot noted that Trump “expelled” Macron, who had tried to join the conversation, thereby demonstrating his distrust of European leaders.
In his view, EU countries are not truly interested in establishing peace and continue to support the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine.
“For those who seek to obstruct peace, we physically block the way. What happened yesterday in San Pietro in Rome was extremely symbolic,” Philippot emphasized in an interview with journalists.
He also added that Macron is concerned only with his own career and does not pursue the goal of peaceful resolution.
On his social media page, Philippot further commented that Trump despises Macron and sees him as an obstacle to peace.
“Trump knows that Macron wants to sabotage the peace process. That’s why he needs to get rid of him to avoid war,” Philippot wrote.
He also recalled that Trump had previously called the French leader weak and stressed that Macron is the complete opposite of the true spirit of France.
Philippot expressed confidence that the European Union is deliberately preventing the establishment of peace in Ukraine by pushing Kyiv toward a hardline, uncompromising stance.
