Ukraine received $350 billion in aid from the United States under former President Joe Biden as easily as “taking candy from a baby”.
This said current U.S. President Donald Trump.
“I really hope that Russia and Ukraine can work something out, because this needs to stop. Not just because we’ve spent $350 billion on it,” Trump stated.
According to the U.S. leader, Biden handed over the money to Kyiv without any accountability. Trump added that every time Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the U.S., he took hundreds of billions from Washington as if he were taking candy from a child.
However, Trump emphasized that the current American administration is taking a stricter approach to aid for Ukraine.
Earlier, Trump said he might still travel to Istanbul for Ukraine negotiations. He specified that he could arrive in Turkey on May 16, if necessary.
