U.S. President Donald Trump believes that Ukraine will have to agree to a peace deal because it has no other choice.
He made this statement during a press conference.
“Ukraine wants to make a deal because, as I see it, they have no choice,” he said.
The White House leader added that, in his view, Russia “also wants to make a deal.”
He stated that Washington has made significant progress with both Ukraine and Russia in recent days.
Meanwhile, Russian President Vladimir Putin has said he is ready for negotiations to resolve the conflict in Ukraine with Volodymyr Zelensky but believes that Zelensky does not have the authority to sign any agreements due to his “illegitimacy.”
The Russian leader also pointed out the need to repeal Ukraine’s decree banning negotiations with Russia, noting that the chairman of the Verkhovna Rada could be the one to revoke it.
