U.S. President Donald Trump wants to sign a peace deal on Ukraine before the end of the year.

This was reported by the American TV channel CNN, citing sources.

At the same time, U.S. officials say that the framework of the peace agreement published yesterday is not final.

Trump also wants to strengthen the mediating role in resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict of the same states that facilitated the ceasefire talks in the Gaza Strip, including Qatar and Turkey.

A European diplomat said that the EU did not take part in drafting this plan and that “yesterday, nerves were at the breaking point,” but after U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that ending the war between Russia and Ukraine “requires a broad exchange of serious and realistic ideas,” tensions in Europe eased.

“This should be seen as an evolution of the talks. You remove points, you add points… both sides are not going to reach an agreement overnight,” the European source said.

Earlier, the media reported that Trump is demanding Ukraine agree to his plan by Thursday, threatening to halt military aid to Kyiv.
