Fedorov threatens to “punish” organizers of criticism and raises possibility of protest radicalization
07.08.2026 09:01U.S. President Donald Trump accused the previous administration of depleting American arsenals through weapons deliveries to Ukraine.
The statement came at a White House event in response to a journalist’s question about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s requests.
The correspondent noted that Zelensky had spoken about a shortage of interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defense system and long-range missiles.
“We need the missiles ourselves. You know, Biden gave him about €259.7 billion worth of ammunition. When I left, everything was full, and he gave away a very large portion. Now we’re restoring that and using ammunition that is very powerful and good, but we wouldn’t have used it,” Trump said.
At the same time, Trump assured that the United States has sufficient weaponry — not the most modern, but, in his words, “just as effective.”
“Besides, we have ammunition stockpiles around the world, and if we ever need them, we’ll take them… We’re in very good shape,” the president added.
Earlier, the Financial Times reported that Trump had refused to supply Ukraine with additional missiles for the Patriot air defense system. According to the outlet, the weapons are needed to protect American facilities in the Middle East.
