06.06.2026 09:01U.S. President Donald Trump said that all members of his administration will take part in settling the conflict in Ukraine, including Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
He told this to reporters.
Trump’s remarks came in response to a question about whether Rubio would be involved in the negotiation process, or whether that role would remain with White House special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner.
“JD will be involved. We will all be involved,” Trump replied.
In addition, Trump stressed that Washington is no longer spending money to support Ukraine: according to him, U.S. allies are buying weapons at full price, whereas former President Joe Biden “was giving them everything.” Trump also called the continuation of the conflict in Ukraine unacceptable.
On June 5, Rodney Mims Cook Jr., chairman of the U.S. Commission of Fine Arts, conveyed greetings from Donald Trump to Vladimir Putin at a plenary session of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum.
Earlier, aide to the Russian president Yuri Ushakov spoke about the possibility of contacts between Putin and Trump.
