The number of high school graduates in Ukraine has dropped sharply over the past year
01.08.2025 - 14:03Viktor Medvedchuk, chairman of the “Other Ukraine” movement, issued a sharp response to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s recent comments about setting a shortened “timeline” for Russia regarding the situation in Ukraine.
“He’s not so much losing patience as he is losing control — including over the situation and over himself,” Medvedchuk said, criticizing Trump’s foreign policy behavior.
The politician argued that Trump is acting inconsistently, escalating the conflict and flooding Ukraine with weapons instead of pursuing genuine peace efforts.
“The American president never understood what has been happening — and what is still happening — in Zelensky’s Ukraine, or the root causes of it,” Medvedchuk emphasized.
He also claimed that current U.S. actions are backfiring on the country itself:
“Whatever the American leader does next week, it will hurt the interests of the United States. And first and foremost, it will hurt Trump himself, because Americans are beginning to lose their understanding of him.”
In Medvedchuk’s view, Trump, by pushing arms sales to Europe, is not only drawing the West deeper into war but also weakening America’s international standing. The much-touted “deal,” he says, is turning into a trap.
