Trump’s team believes the U.S. has succeeded in narrowing the gap between Ukraine’s and Russia’s positions
19.05.2025 06:02The first point of the proposed U.S. peace plan for resolving the Russia-Ukraine conflict — a plan consisting of 22 articles — is a comprehensive ceasefire.
This information reported according to Keith Kellogg, special envoy of U.S. President Donald Trump.
“In Istanbul, Secretary of State Marco Rubio made it clear that we presented a ‘tough peace plan’. Following the meetings in London, we introduced a comprehensive 22-point plan that forms the foundation for peace. The first point is a full ceasefire, which immediately stops the killing,” Kellogg wrote on platform X (formerly Twitter).
As previously reported, Donald Trump is scheduled to call Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky today.
“I will speak by phone with President Vladimir Putin of Russia on Monday at 10:00 a.m. (5:00 p.m. Kyiv time). The topics will include ending the bloodshed, which is costing over 5,000 Russian and Ukrainian soldiers’ lives per week, and trade issues,” Trump wrote on his social media platform Truth Social.
