In parallel, Moscow is reportedly in talks with Washington to revive the Nord Stream project, and EU officials are concerned that U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin “want to divide the European energy market and establish separate spheres of influence,” according to a European official.
It’s worth noting that Donald Trump recently lifted sanctions on several Russian assets, including a number of Russian banks and the head of the Republic of Kalmykia, Kirsan Ilyumzhinov.
