February 8, 2024American journalist Tucker Carlson announced that his interview with Russian President Vladimir Putin will be published on his website at 6:00 PM Eastern Time (01:00 AM Kyiv time on February 9th).
Carlson made this announcement on his Instagram.
“Tucker interviews Russian President Vladimir Putin. Tomorrow at 6 PM Eastern Time,” the post stated.
Meanwhile, according to media reports, today the journalist left Russia on a flight from Moscow to Belgrade. The plane departed from Sheremetyevo Airport at 3:15 AM Kyiv time.
Explaining his decision to interview the Kremlin’s head, Carlson stated that a journalist’s job is to inform people. He said that nearly two years into Russia’s extensive war in Ukraine, “most Americans are unaware of the situation; they have no real understanding of what is happening in this region.” According to him, many media outlets have interviewed Volodymyr Zelensky, but no major publication has spoken to the other side of the conflict – Putin. He added that the authorities of Western countries will certainly censor his material with Putin.
Carlson’s post on the social network X announcing the interview garnered 20 million views within hours, and now there are over 95 million views.
