Zelensky warns Ukrainians of a “very harsh winter”
27.07.2026 09:02Turkey is maintaining contacts with the United States on the issue of settling the conflict in Ukraine.
This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing a diplomatic source in Ankara.
“The issue of settling the conflict in Ukraine remains on our agenda. The necessary contacts are being maintained on this topic, including with the United States,” the source told the news agency.
Turkey has repeatedly acted as a mediator between Russia and Ukraine. In 2022, the first in-person Russian-Ukrainian negotiations were held in Istanbul. Later, with the assistance of Ankara and the UN, the Black Sea Grain Initiative was reached. Turkish authorities continue to express readiness to provide a venue for direct talks between Moscow and Kyiv.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov recently emphasized that Moscow is open to negotiations on a Ukrainian settlement.
