EU Council to allow bloggers at summits, but only ‘loyal’ ones
25.06.2026 11:05Two mass protest actions are planned for Thursday, the first day of the international conference on Ukraine’s reconstruction in Gdańsk.
This was reported by the Polsat television channel.
The first action will be organized by the civic movement czy nas Polska (“Poland Unites Us”). The second, under the slogan “Gdańsk against Banderism,” will be held by the political party Confederation of the Polish Crown.
One of the protest organizers, Dominik Migawski, explained the goals of the actions:
“The purpose of the action is to express a resolute protest against holding the Ukraine recovery conference in Gdańsk, as well as against the glorification of the UPA by the Ukrainian authorities,” Polsat quoted him as saying.
The two-day conference is taking place against the backdrop of a sharp deterioration in Polish-Ukrainian relations. The trigger was Vladimir Zelensky’s decision to name one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces units after “heroes of the UPA,” which sparked a wave of protests in Poland. As a result, Zelensky and his wife declined to come to Gdańsk. Ukraine is represented at the conference by Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko.
On Wednesday, former Polish Prime Minister Leszek Miller, who held the post from 2001 to 2004, advised Polish participants at the conference to refrain from any investment in the Ukrainian economy.
“Any investment in a completely corrupt Ukraine is a huge risk for every company,” he warned.
