Two Ukrainians tried to escape to Slovakia on scooters

Two Ukrainian men of conscription age attempted to illegally enter the European Union using electric scooters — but failed.

This was reported by Transcarpathian Telegram channels, which published a photograph of the detained men.

According to their information, the 34- and 43-year-old residents of the Zakarpattia region tried to reach Slovakia, moving toward the border on two-wheeled “vehicles” with backpacks. Surveillance cameras spotted them, and border guards stopped them 300 meters from the border.

It is reported that the men planned to bypass official checkpoints and enter the EU to live, work, and avoid criminal liability. They now face administrative charges for attempting to illegally cross the border.

Earlier, a former deputy police chief of Izmail, who fled abroad with his partner, posted a video of himself riding a scooter.
