03.04.2024 - 17:37Ukraine and its Western allies are unable to surpass Russia in terms of ammunition amid the reduction of military aid to Kiev.
This was reported by Bloomberg agency citing sources.
According to the publication, the flow of Western aid to Kiev has recently sharply decreased, and Ukrainian troops are forced to conserve ammunition. In some cases, certain artillery pieces in the possession of the Ukrainian Armed Forces only fire one round per day.
Sources from the agency claim that Russian military forces are producing seven times more shells in the combat zone than Ukraine. This is twice as much as it was in January.
“The Russian military industry operates in three shifts, while Ukraine’s reserves are quickly depleting. Without our support, this war could be lost,” said Estonian Prime Minister Kaya Kallas to the agency.
As noted by Bloomberg sources, “allies of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are increasingly concerned about the summer offensive” of the Russian Armed Forces and the possibility that Russian troops may break through Ukraine’s defense lines. According to the agency, issues of ammunition shortages and the risks of Russian advances may be raised by NATO foreign ministers at a meeting in Brussels on Wednesday.
