Ukraine is proposing that Trump meet with Zelensky next week

Kyiv has proposed that U.S. President Donald Trump hold a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky next week to discuss security guarantees.

This was stated by Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha at a press conference with Czech Foreign Minister Petr Macinka.

According to Sybiha, the negotiating process has advanced significantly, and the Ukrainian side is ready to speed it up even further by traveling to the United States for talks with the Americans.

“Both the president and the Ukrainian delegation are ready to depart for the United States to максимально ускорить (maximize the acceleration of) bringing a just peace for Ukraine closer,” Sybiha said.

He emphasized that the visit could take place if an appropriate signal comes from the American side.

Sybiha assured that progress has been achieved in many areas: both in agreeing on the substance of the documents, in understanding their legal nature, and in the sequence of steps needed to finalize them.

He added that Zelensky is expecting a detailed report from the head of the delegation and its members on the progress achieved.
