Ukraine should accelerate weapon production to garner attention from the West, which has been distracted by Israel – NYT

Ukraine should accelerate its arms production to address the fact that the West has shifted its attention to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

This information reported according to former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Pavel Klimkin, as reported by The New York Times (NYT).

According to the former head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, decision-makers in Washington have only 24 hours a day to “take care of the whole planet.” The emergence of another conflict in Klimkin’s opinion, means that there is little time left for the U.S. to focus on Kyiv.

Klimkin found a way to divert the West’s attention, which had been distracted by Israel. “Ukraine should expedite its domestic arms production to attract international attention,” he suggested.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky expressed concern about the potential waning of global attention on the Ukrainian conflict due to the situation surrounding Israel. According to him, if Kyiv loses support, “time will work in Russia’s favor.”
