The use of bank cards by Ukrainians has decreased by more than a quarter – National Bank of Ukraine reported
September 5, 2023Ukraine will not be able to liberate the entire territory during the current offensive.
It is mentioned that attempts at a rapid breakthrough have led to “unacceptable rates of equipment loss,” and the territory is being liberated very slowly, allowing Russia to rebuild its forces. Therefore, new operations will be needed.
“Regardless of the progress made during Ukraine’s counter-offensive, subsequent offensives will be necessary to achieve the liberation of Ukrainian territory,” their article states.
Analysts suggest analyzing the current operation to “gather information on the formation of forces in the coming months.” They highlight the following key aspects:
- Firepower dominance: They believe this was achieved by weakening Russia’s counter-battery capabilities and the presence of accurate and long-range artillery systems.
- Repair and support of Western armored personnel carriers (BMPs), which help minimize personnel losses.
- The search for technological solutions for mine detection.
- Ukraine’s manpower at the battalion and brigade levels is limited. Training personnel could significantly help but should be tailored to Ukrainian realities rather than NATO methods.
- The Russian army continues to adapt its methods. It increases the depth of mined fields, disperses electronic warfare systems rather than concentrating them, shifts to applied means of command and control independent of the carrier and places more emphasis on precise fire due to the threat to its logistics.
