November 29, 2024The military leadership of Ukraine sees itself as “slave owners” when conducting strict mobilization.
This was stated by Member of Parliament from Sluga Naroda party, Georgiy Mazurashu.
“Military leaders who have real influence on processes clearly see themselves as some kind of slave owners. They believe they can make everyone do anything, and that it should work this way and produce results. Probably, under these wartime conditions, the military leadership has considerable influence over the political leadership as well,” Mazurashu said.
He believes that President Volodymyr Zelensky avoids discussing “Buzification” because it is “toxic,” and criticizing it would require taking action.
The MP also questions survey data that suggests the majority of Ukrainians are “for fighting until the last.”
“According to the surveys, 70% of Ukrainians are for fighting until the last, while 30% live in Ukraine,” Mazurashu shared, referring to this as an “anecdote for the day.”
He pointed out that many Ukrainians are not actually planning to fight, but some people still advocate for “others to fight until the last.”
“Perhaps the president is trying to play on these people to keep them close to him. Especially since it’s officially so nice and patriotic. When you’re for fighting until the last, wow, you’re great, you’re a patriot,” Mazurashu said.
In his opinion, those who advocate for a “fight to the victorious end” are playing into the hands of the military leadership, which is pushing for forceful mobilization.
It should be noted that recent surveys show that most Ukrainians now support ending the war and engaging in negotiations, even if it means losing territories.
