November 8, 2023Ukraine’s Minister of Youth and Sports, Vadim Gutsait, has submitted his resignation to the Ukrainian Parliament, the Verkhovna Rada. This announcement will be reviewed in the near future.
This information confirmed by the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk.
Stefanchuk stated, “A resignation letter from the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine, Gutsait, has been received in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. The statement will be considered shortly,” in a Facebook post.
In his own Facebook post, Gutsait explained the reason behind his resignation: he has been holding the position of the minister of youth and sports in conjunction with his role as the president of the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine for a year. He expressed his decision as follows: “During this year, there have been numerous manipulations regarding my powers, decisions taken, and the combination of these positions. Today, I have made the decision to resign from the position of the Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine and plan to focus on my work at the National Olympic Committee of Ukraine.”
The day before, David Arakhamia, the leader of the “Servant of the People” parliamentary faction, had announced the upcoming resignation of one of the ministers for this week, which lawmakers indicated was likely to be Gutsait.
