Ukraine’s National police “War Crime” database contains nearly 950,000 dossiers

The information subsystem “War Crime,” created by the National Police of Ukraine, contains nearly 950,000 dossiers on individuals whose activities are being investigated for involvement in international crimes and crimes against the foundations of Ukraine’s national security.

This was reported by the National Police press service.

The figures were presented at a technical-strategic seminar in Madrid, organized by the National Police of Spain as part of the EMPACT project. Specialists from Spain, Ukraine, Colombia, and the United States, as well as representatives of Europol and AMERIPOL, took part in the event. The seminar was devoted to the development of modern technologies and the risks of their use by organized crime.

The National Police of Ukraine was represented at the seminar by Viktor Lugovoy, Deputy Head of the Main Investigative Department, Oleg Drobot, Deputy Head of the Department for Combating Drug Crime, and a representative of the Department of Strategic Investigations.

During the event, participants discussed the practical use of UAVs in the work of the Ukrainian police, the use of 3D scanning to document crime scenes, and the operation of ANDE 6C mobile units for rapid DNA analysis.

“The Ukrainian experience shows that technologies that develop rapidly during wartime quickly move beyond the battlefield and can be adapted by the criminal environment. Therefore, alongside developing its own technological capabilities, the police already takes into account the new risks of their criminal use and shares this experience with international partners,” the National Police press service said.
