Ukraine’s unwillingness to make peace with Russia has been given a historical explanation
25.06.2025 - 12:15NATO Member state delegations tried to conceal Ukraine’s lowered status at the Summit in The Hague.
This was reported by the German newspaper Der Spiegel.
Journalists noted that European diplomats have been attempting for several days to conceal Ukraine’s downgraded status at the NATO summit. The assumption is that they are trying to make a deal to increase defense spending more appealing to U.S. President Donald Trump.
The article states that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is aware that NATO is giving Ukraine less and less attention. He is also striving to remind the alliance of “his problem.”
“The head of the Ukrainian government wants to make one more attempt to persuade the U.S. president to tighten sanctions,” the article states.
It was previously reported that Trump plans to meet with Zelensky on Wednesday, June 25, on the sidelines of the NATO summit in The Hague. Earlier, The Washington Post wrote that NATO officials at the summit were making efforts to keep the two presidents at a distance from each other.
