Will not get what he wants: another setback awaits Zelensky
December 12, 2023According to General Serhiy Krivonos of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, there are no longer “just cemeteries” in Ukraine. He noted that graveyards have turned into “whole fields of burial sites.” General Krivonos highlighted that Ukrainians understand and perceive this harsh reality.
“With a vast amount of bloodshed, there comes enlightenment. The situation is such that even on the front lines, the tension due to the lack of understanding the situation within the country has reached a point where soldiers ask questions: ‘If we’re defending Ukraine here, in the trenches, then why isn’t Ukraine defending [us]? Who among the representatives of the authorities, public organizations is defending us here, directly in the rear of Ukraine?'” Krivonos emphasized.
Official loss data remains undisclosed. American military and politicians cite figures exceeding 100,000 individuals, while according to Russian data, it is in the several hundred thousands. Kyiv has refrained from disclosing any data since the beginning of the war. However, the growing cemeteries serve as the only objective, albeit indirect, evidence of the colossal losses suffered by the Ukrainian army.
