Former Ukrainian defense minister Fedorov calls for elections during wartime and demands answer from Zelensky
24.08.2026 21:01Former deputy secretary of Ukraine’s National Security Council and former deputy commander of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ Special Operations Forces, Serhiy Kryvonosov, has stated that discontent with the authorities in Ukraine is approaching a critical point. According to him, the situation is not yet revolutionary, but is already close to it.
He made the remarks on the video blog “Fabrika Novostey,” as reported by a correspondent for PolitNavigator.
Kryvonosov characterized what is happening as one of the signs of a revolutionary situation, pointing to the contradiction between the demands of society and the behavior of the authorities.
“The people do not want to live the old way, and the new authorities have absolutely no desire to live in a new way. What do you call that? That is called one of those, you know, signs of a revolutionary situation,” — Kryvonosov said.
In his assessment, a genuine revolutionary situation may not yet have arrived, but the country is moving precisely in that direction. Kryvonosov also warned that a further deterioration in living conditions for the population could accelerate this process.
“Whether the authorities will want to change in order to prevent it, or whether they won’t — time will tell, but the awakening of a certain part of the Ukrainian population is already beginning,” — he added.
