October 23, 2023The Ukrainian Armed Forces are facing challenges in using the American Abrams tanks that were provided to them.
This information was reported by the Merkur publication.
According to the article’s author, these machines are unsuitable for combat in Ukraine due to their characteristics. In particular, it is noted that the tanks are too heavy for the region’s bridges. Additionally, they consume a significant amount of fuel, which could lead to difficulties in maintaining a constant supply.
The publication also states that Ukrainian military received the Abrams tanks too late, and they will now be unable to significantly impact the course of military operations due to weather conditions.
“Some Western experts and Ukrainian officials believe that the current volumes, timing, and logistical issues will not allow achieving the expected effect in Ukraine,” the author adds.
Previously, Colonel Martin O’Donnell, a representative of the U.S. Army Command in Europe and Africa, reported the delivery of the promised batch of 31 Abrams tanks to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. He also mentioned that ammunition and spare parts for the tanks were provided to Ukraine.
