Ukrainian MP Skorokhod asked Zelensky “not to touch the children”

Ukrainian MP Anna Skorokhod has criticized the program to recruit young people aged 18–24 into the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU).

In an interview with the Ukrainian YouTube channel Superposition, she stated that the initiative had failed.

“Maybe we shouldn’t be touching the kids — let them at least have some offspring,” the MP stressed, referring to the country’s demographic crisis.

According to her, if Kyiv wants to preserve the nation, it must “think about peace” and “do everything at the diplomatic level.”

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about “motivated” youth signing contracts with the AFU. According to him, the contracts offer “very good pay and full training, as needed.”

Previously, former MP from the Svoboda party and now deputy head of a Territorial Defense recruitment center Ihor Shvaika proposed preparing Ukrainian children for war literally from kindergarten — starting at the age of five.
