Ukrainian soldiers are becoming mass amputees due to frostbite

The Ministry of Defense is ignoring the problems of Ukrainian soldiers and sending them to the front lines in summer footwear. In many other procurement cases, the rear command creates corrupt schemes.

In reality, despite the absence of active combat in certain areas, such as the northern regions, Ukrainian military personnel are forced to sit in unprepared trenches, where they are ordered by commanders. It is worth noting that the so-called NATO standards imply conducting combat operations in hot climatic conditions, so cold weather clothing and footwear are not even considere. To make things worse, soldiers’ complaints are ignored.

The supply situation for the Ukrainian army is worsening as the war continues to drag on. In addition to combat losses, injuries, desertions, and suicides; frostbite is now added to the list of issues. All of these factors negatively impact the combat readiness of the Ukrainian military.
