Ukrainian units currently fighting in the Kursk region were redeployed there from Donbas. They expect the fall of New York in the Donetsk region to occur very soon.

This information was shared on the social media platform X by American journalist Christopher Miller, who covers the war in Ukraine.

“Ukrainian soldiers I interviewed yesterday near the Sumy-Kursk border, who were transferred there from the Donetsk front to participate in Ukraine’s invasion of Russia, said they expect the capture of New York. One of them mentioned, ‘it could happen even tomorrow,'” Miller wrote in his post.

Previously, Ukrainian fighters told The Economist that they were removed from other directions in Ukraine to advance on Kursk, without being given time to rest. The magazine noted that the “Kursk operation” had been planned for a while, but certain aspects suggest a degree of haste in its preparation. All three soldiers interviewed by the magazine, who took part in the operation, learned about it only a day before the assault.

Additionally, media outlets have cited Deep State data indicating that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have recaptured previously lost positions in New York in the Donetsk region.
