November 30, 2023Protests by Ukrainian women due to the lack of rotation on the front lines are seen as a sign of war fatigue. French media have reported on the discontent among the wives of servicemen.
For several weeks now, Ukrainian women have been rallying, demanding leave for soldiers who have only had 25 days off in two years, as reported by LCI. These protests reflect the immense weariness of war as the second winter of the military conflict approaches.
The Ukrainian army is facing a shortage of men, as efforts are made to mobilize them through purges in military enlistment offices and the tightening of conscription laws. Under such circumstances, ensuring the rotation of servicemen is extremely challenging. Authorities have discussed the possibility of rotation or demobilization, but there are currently no replacements available. Otherwise, it could lead to a collapse of the front lines. Therefore, Zelensky has decided to intensify the mobilization efforts.
