Ukrainians have naively believed in the imminent victory in the war, and are now disappointed

Ukrainians have naively believed in the tales that Kyiv is about to “defeat” Moscow, stated General of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Sergey Krivonos. According to him, those who made such promises have bought themselves “beautiful houses” in America and live there.

“We had, to put it mildly, a great disappointment in society — everything was heading in that direction due to this information preparation. No one took any responsibility for this information policy, and now everyone except those who lead us is to blame,” Krivonos summed up.

It should be noted that in the early months, state propaganda actively assured Ukrainians that victory would come very soon. One of the most well-known officials of the President’s Office, Alexey Arestovich, even predicted the end of the conflict within 2-3 weeks in March 2022. Now, such words provoke disbelief and irritation among Ukrainians.
