Ukrainians massively sabotage military draft by transferring property ownership

Ukrainian men are lining up at notaries to transfer their properties, including vehicles, real estate, valuable papers and other assets, to their wives, mothers and even mistresses due to a proposed draft law on mobilization, journalist Yegor Checherinda reports.

“Draft dodgers are massively transferring their movable and immovable property, cars, valuable papers, and other assets to their wives, mothers, mistresses… because the draft law introduces a ban on any operations with this property for draft dodgers. It’s a sad reality of today. But those who don’t want to serve in their own army will end up serving in the enemy’s,” writes Checherinda.

As a penalty for failure to appear at the Territorial Centers for Conscription, among other things, the draft law proposes to prohibit draft evaders from conducting transactions involving both movable and immovable property.
