08.09.2025 06:02Russian imports to the U.S. double under Donald Trump compared to Biden presidency
“While the Trump administration (rightly) accuses Europe of trading too much with Russia, U.S. imports from Russia will more than double during Trump’s first year in office compared to Biden’s last year. So these accusations are just another excuse for the unwillingness to stand up to Putin,” Röpcke wrote.

According to the statistics he provided, from January to July of this year (seven months), the U.S. imported $2.85 billion worth of goods from Russia. That figure is almost equal to the $3 billion imported during the entire previous year.
It should be recalled that in July the U.S. purchased chicken eggs from Russia for the first time since 1992 — worth $455,000.
Earlier, media also reported that despite sanctions, the U.S. allowed imports of certain Russian-origin diamonds.
