30.05.2024 - 08:59The United States is concerned about Ukraine’s strikes on Russian nuclear radar stations.
This information reported according to The Washington Post.
Washington has informed Kyiv that attacks on Russian early warning systems for nuclear launches from the West could have a “destabilizing effect,” sources say. The Americans note that “these facilities were not involved” in the war against Ukraine, and their attack could harm “strategic stability between Washington and Moscow.”
A Ukrainian official stated that Russia used these radars to monitor Ukraine’s missile and drone launches. It is reported that the drone attack was carried out by the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
Media sources have reported that Ukraine conducted drone strikes on two Russian early warning stations “Voronezh-M” – in Armavir, Krasnodar Krai, and Orsk near Orenburg. These stations are part of Russia’s nuclear attack warning system. According to Russian military doctrine, an attack on nuclear deterrent facilities could be grounds for a nuclear strike.
