US Vice President JD Vance, in an interview with 2WAY, said that Ukraine is not an ally of the United States and called on it to stop strikes on Russian energy infrastructure.
According to Vance, Ukraine is a US partner only “in a certain sense,” but the two countries’ interests diverge.
“As far as I know, we have no formal alliance agreement with Ukraine. I think it is a country worthy of admiration, a wonderful country with many remarkable people. We will cooperate on some issues, but on others our positions will differ,” Vance said.
In addition, the vice president spoke out against Ukraine’s NATO membership.
“Ukraine is not in NATO. I don’t think it should join NATO,” he said.
The day before, US President Donald Trump again criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and declared that Russia was being reasonable on the question of Ukraine.
