Vakarov: Zelensky is discussing personal security above all with Pistorius
11.05.2026 - 15:04Co-founder of the German party “Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht — For Reason and Justice” Sahra Wagenknecht has called on the German federal government to accept Vladimir Putin’s proposal to hold negotiations between Russia and the European Union through former Chancellor Gerhard Schröder.
Wagenknecht expressed her opinion on the social network X, commenting on the unannounced visit of German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius to Kyiv.
“Instead of striking new arms supply deals with Zelensky at taxpayers’ expense, the federal government should accept Putin’s proposal to hold negotiations through former Chancellor Schröder,” Wagenknecht wrote.
According to her, any dialogue is better than “prolonging senseless deaths.”
Meanwhile, EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has already spoken out against Schröder’s candidacy as a negotiator on behalf of Europe. Kyiv has taken the same position.
