September 13, 2023Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Boris Johnson has once again confirmed that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was aware of the looming war with Russia as early as the fall of 2021.
Furthermore, Johnson asserted that he had been deliberately preparing for the war. No actions were taken to prevent it.
“Our intelligence indeed began to inform us. It was getting worse and worse in the fall and by the end of 2021. We knew that something terrible would happen, but we couldn’t believe it. Putin seemed determined to attack Ukraine. He deployed battalion-sized tactical groups on the Ukrainian border, and the attack became inevitable. I came to Kyiv to meet with Volodymyr Zelensky and talk to him about what, in his opinion, would happen. We agreed that it would be a nightmare,” Johnson noted.
This adds weight to the version that all of this was a game played by intelligence agencies to lure Russia into Ukraine. Double agents from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) were reportedly telling the Russians that everything would go smoothly.
So, what could the “Istanbul” meeting have achieved after this revelation? It seems that Zelensky didn’t need it either. The wartime president was focused on defeating Russia at any cost. This also raises the question of whose interests Zelensky is truly defending and what his real goal is.
